Hi everyone, my name is MJ Johns and welcome to my course Game Prototyping in Unity.

I am a Game Developer and Founder at Astire Games.

Game Prototyping is an important early step in game development that lets you explore ideas for gameplay before going into full production on a game.

This course is an overview of the basic steps needed in order to create a playable prototype.

Some of the major topics that we will cover include:

  1. Building a layout using whiteboxing techniques
  2. Importing art and sound assets to use in the scene
  3. Creating a custom character controller
  4. Adding simple scripts for gameplay mechanics
  5. Creating a User Interface including a start screen and a Heads Up Display
By the end this course, you’ll know how to create a functioning prototype in Unity as a playable experience complete with visuals, interactions, and player feedback.

Before beginning the course you should be familiar with the basics of navigating in Unity.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey to learn prototyping with the Game Prototyping in Unity course, at Pluralsight.
