Course Overview
Hi everyone. My name is Jeremy Jarrell, and welcome to my course, Product Owner Fundamentals - Product Ownership from the Trenches. I'm an Agile coach who helps teams get better at doing what they love. Did you know that your full engagement as a product owner in each piece of the Scrum framework is one of the biggest predictors of success for your Scrum team? In this course, you will learn how you can participate effectively in each of the major Scrum ceremonies, as well as learn what specific pieces of the Scrum framework that you, as a product owner, are directly responsible for. Some of the major topics that we will cover include learning how to decompose your vision for your product into an actionable plan that your team can use to deliver your product to market, and learning the product owner's role in each piece of the Scrum framework, as well as tips for how you can be as effective as possible when participating in each ceremony of the Scrum framework. And you will learn how to create and plan for the long-term strategy of your product, as well as how to effectively communicate this strategy to both your team and your stakeholders. By the end of this course, you will know how you can be effective in your role as a product owner, so you can help your team be successful in bringing your product to market. I hope that you will join me on this journey to learn how to become an effective product owner with the Product Owner Fundamentals - Product Ownership from the Trenches course at Pluralsight.

Keeping the Sprint on Track
My name is Jeremy Jarrell, and welcome to Keeping the Sprint on Track, part of the Product Ownership from the Trenches course of the Product Owner Fundamentals course series. In this module, you'll learn how your team can plan and synchronize their work for the day using regularly occurring daily checkpoints and how they can track their progress in the sprint to ensure that they're on track to deliver everything that was forecasted during sprint planning. And you'll learn how you can work with your Scrum Master to keep your team moving forward as efficiently as possible. The Daily Scrum is a timeboxed 15-minute planning meeting in which your team synchronizes and plans their work for the day. While the sprint planning ceremony is the opportunity for your team to plan their work for the upcoming sprint, the Daily Scrum provides the same opportunity at a smaller level for the team to plan their work for the upcoming day. In fact, this ability to continuously plan at multiple levels is a common theme in the Scrum framework and is a major reason why teams using the Scrum framework enjoy such a high rate of success. But despite its short time commitment, the Daily Scrum is a critical ingredient to success for Scrum Teams. Without regularly occurring and effective daily scrums, team members risk straying off course from the sprint objective, duplicating each other's efforts, or simply thrashing for an extended period of time without making any significant progress on the problem at hand. In this module, you'll learn the format of the Daily Scrum, your role as a product owner in this ceremony, and how you can help your team create the environment for the most effective Daily Scrum possible.
