Description

Storm is meant to be to used for distributed real-time processing, the way Hadoop is used for distributed batch processing. With Storm, you can process informations such as trends and breaking news and react to it in real-time. In this course, Applying Real-time Processing Using Apache Storm, you'll learn how to apply Storm for real-time processing. First, you'll discover how to set up a data processing pipeline using Storm topologies. Next, you'll explore parallelization by controlling data flows between components. Then, you'll cover how to perform complex data transforms using the Trident API. Finally, you'll learn how to apply machine learning models in real-time. By the end of this course, you'll be able to build your own Storm applications for different real-time processing tasks.

Course Overview
Hi everyone, my name is Swetha Kolalapudi and welcome to my course, Applying Real-time Processing Using Apache Storm. I'm the co-founder of a start-up called Loonycorn. Real-time processing on latest trends and breaking news is a unique problem that needs capabilities very different from batch processing. Storm provides a distributed architecture to process large-scale streaming data in real time. This course is all about learning how to apply Storm for real-time processing. By the time you are done, you will know how to set up a robust far-realized Storm application for the idea of data tasks. Some of the major topics that we will cover include setting up a data processing pipeline using Storm topologies, parallelization by controlling data flows between components, performing complex data transforms using the Trident API, and applying machine learning models in real time. By the end of this course, you'll be able to build your own Storm applications for different real-time processing tasks. Before beginning the course, you should be comfortable programming in Java and have some familiarity with using Java frameworks. I hope will join me on this journey and learn Applying Real-time Processing Using Apache Storm.
